Hidden world. Views of the Welsh Harp not seen for 30 years

Thanks to recent restoration works around the east marsh by Canal and River Trust, and Land and Water, we got access yesterday to this remote bay (above) before nesting season begins. This area of water and shoreline has not been visible for decades due to colonised willow, brambles and reeds in spite of being part of one of the largest urban waterbodies in London.

The photo below shows a rarely seen view west across the east marsh from close to the mouth of the River Brent.
